About Bhima and Hidimba
Bhima was the 2nd son among the 5 Pandavas. The God Vayu gifted Bhim to Kunti and Pandu. He is the most powerful among all his brothers, with physical power of about 10,000 elephants. According to Hindu mythology, he was the 1st person to start the war of Mahabharata. He never disrespected Lord Krishna’s advice. He fell in love with the demon Goddess Hidimba. He got married to her and they had a child together.
Hidimba was the sister of Hidimb, a demon. They lived in the Kamyaka forest near the Saraswati River. Bhima and Hidimba married, and she became Ghatokacha's mother. She also has 2 names Bhutanadevi and Pallavi. She is a demon goddess or kul devi of the royal family in Kullu. She presented Bihangmanipal to his kingdom. She is powerful and kind-hearted to her believers.

The love story of Bhima and Hidimba
Their love story is short-lived. The Pandavas’s mother was abused and manipulated by Kauravas as they were successful. Kunti was forced to exile with her children in the forest. This led to the happening of their love story.
Kunti and Pandavas went asleep in the forest except for Bheem, who opened the doors for 2 demons, Hidimb and Hidimba. They both are siblings. Hidimb told her sister to lure Bheem a beautiful woman.
She took that form as her brother told her. She saw Bheem and fell in love with him. Bheem and Hidimb both started fighting together, Hidimba didn’t want her brother to win so she helped Bheem to win. The fight ended and Bhim won, and Hidimb died. Kunti already knew that Hidimb was in love with Bhim, so this led to their marriage.

Marriage of Bhima and Hidimba
Kunti told Bhim to marry Hidimba on some condition. She said that they would only be together till a child was born. He listened to his mother and married Hidimba. She was the 1st daughter-in-law of the Pandavas family. They got married but didn’t stay with her all the time.
The mother of Ghatotkacha
Bhima and Hidimba gave birth to a child. His head is like a pot. They named him Ghatotkacha. He became a mighty warrior who killed demons like Alambusha, Alayudha, and Asuras. He was the hero who killed Kauravas in the battle of Mahabharata.

Bhim and Hidimba: Separation
Bhim left Hidimba because he didn’t want to leave his mother, Kunti. He doesn't want to leave his brothers by themselves on their trip. He promised that his love for her would never end. He also told her that she is a very loving and caring mother and nobody will replace her position in his life.
She doesn’t enjoy conventional marriage like other women did in ancient times. She decided to stay in the forest with her son. She decided to make her son worthy of living in Kamyaka forest.

The suffering of Hidimba
Hidimba does everything to get the love of Bhim. She was unlucky as Bheem married Valandhara and Draupadi. She doesn’t enjoy the privilege of being Bhim’s queen. One day, she sent her son to Pandavas for their blessings and she also told him not to touch the feet of Draupadi.
He followed his mother’s instruction and didn’t touch Draupadi’s feet, which angered her. She cursed Hidimba’s son to die young. This annoyed Hidimba so she cursed Draupadi’s children's death. According to mythology, Hidimba became spiritual after she lost her son in the war of Mahabharata. She never supported her husband after that. And the love story of Bhim and Hidimba leads to a tragic end.
