.The legend behind Tripurari

According to Hindu mythology, the 3 evil demines, Vidyunmali, Tarakasha, and Kamalaksha, were the demons who worshipped lord Brahma to receive blessings. They worshipped him with all their hearts, which pleased the lord.

As lord Brahma gifted them 3 flying immortal cities, Tripurasura got the blessings of immortality. The people who belonged to them had the power of immortality. However, the negative aspect was related to those cities.

Why did lord Tripurari Mahadev kill Tripursaur?

Lord Brahma said, that if anybody hit the cities with his arrow, the power, and demons in those would vanish. The sages were sacred as demons harm the people through their evil practices, for which lord Shiva was offered prayers.

Lord Tripurari Mahadev killed demons and the cities with his bow and arrow by listening to their prayers. This is the main reason why lord shiva is called Tripurari.

There are many festivals and celebrations of lord Tripurari, which believers worship worldwide. Some festivals are Bhai Dooj, Hanuman Jayanti, Govardhan Puja, Dev Diwali, Tulsi Marriage, and Bhishma Panchak. The Jain people consider this month holy and visit pilgrimage centers.
