Proof Of Ramayana
Everything great has stood powerful in the test of time. So, in the case of Ramayana our elders have been telling us the great stories from the mythical tale of the Ramayana, and the absence of sufficient evidence has left the Ramayana to be called an essential part of literature.
But probably after reading this blog, you also want to hear the stories of the Ramayana all over again, from your elders and this time- in another light.
The mysterious Cobra Hood cave
In Sri Lanka there is a cave that has been tested by archaeologists to be hundred present natural. The hidden thing about this cave is its shape, despite being untouched by human hands, has taken the shape of a cobra. This cave also has paintings on its walls, showing scenes of Sita being captured by the Asuras.
The exile location
Let’s go back in the story to get to the point where Ram was punished to exile by his father, Dasharatha on account of a promise that he made to his wife Kaikeyi. Ram along with Sita and Lakshman proceeded to the forest, and the place they built their cottage and lived for the next 14 years is known as “Panchavati”. Here surprising things will come there is a place called Panchavati near Nashik. It is also claimed that this Panchavati is the same place where Ram, Sita, and Lakshman made their home once they were exiled from the royal palace.
Jat Ayu's rescue attempt
When Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, there was a demi-God called Jataayu who came to rescue Sita. Ravan slayed the demi God's wings and he fell to the ground. After the ram, Lakshman found Jataayu lying on the ground. It was Jataayu who said that Ravan kidnapped Sita and it was Lank who found Sita. To reward Jataayu Ram with his divine powers uttered the words ‘Le Pakshi’ which in Telugu means - ‘Rise, Bird’. And there is an actual place in Andhra Pradesh called “Lepakshi”, which is the place where Jataayu fell.
Sita’s life in Sri Lanka
When Ravan kidnaps Sita and gets her kingdom of Lanka, where he first takes her to a place that is now a tourist spot in Sri Lanka called Sita Kotuwa. According to the mythical tale, from here Ravana took her to Ashok Vatika and surprise- there is an actual “Ashok Yanam” in Sri Lanka.
The footprints of lord hanuman
Going by the mythical tale of the Ramayana, when Ram places the monkey forces to rescue his wife, Sita. He chose the strongest among all of them to find the exact location of Sita. Receiving the blessing of God Ram, Hanuman flew to find the exact location of Sita. With power and divine blessings, Hanuman was blessed with a special ability to change his form like he could maximize and minimize his form. To support this mythical there is a footprint that has been said to be of Hanuman near “Ashok Yanam”. These footprints are different in size and are a consideration of the special powers of the Hanuman.
Dark soil
In a part of Ramayana tells that when Ravan found out that Hanuman had come to free Sita, he set Hanuman’s tail on fire. In this process, Hanuman set fire to Ravan’s kingdom. Even today in some parts of Ravan’s palace stood, the soil is somewhat darker than in other surrounding areas.
Hot wells
The hot well is said to be built by Ravan, the structure is like a hot spring well and still exists and forms an important part of Sri Lanka’s supply of naturally hot water.
10 headed Ravan
Whenever Ravan has to be portrayed either in texts or sculptures, it shows that he had 10 heads. While this statement that Ravan has 10 heads might seem highly impossible, the fact is that he ruled 10 kingdoms does not seem like, an unbeliever, 10 kingdoms 10 crowns. There is also another theory that Ravan was a great scholar and his 10 heads show his mastery over 6 shastras and 4 Vedas. There is also another theory that Ravan’s 10 head shows 10 negative senses or emotions in a human being, namely- lust, anger, delusion, greed, pride, envy, the mind, intellect, will, and ego.
Ram Setu
They didn’t require a Sri Lanka visa to travel at that time, there was a great problem in the form of water bodies, that we know as the Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar. To get into Ravan’s kingdom, Ram had to cross these water bodies. So, his supreme army of monkeys built a bridge between the two lands, and with the ram’s divine power, the stone floated on the water. With the help of Google Maps and complex technology, you can watch the Gulf of Manner and the Palk Strait, actually linking two countries. This link is also known as Ram Setu or Rama’s Bridge and is even known as Adam’s Bridge.
The journey from Sri Lanka to Ayodhya
Vijaya Dashami is the day when Ravan was defeated by Ram in the battle between demons and the army of monkeys. Sita was rescued by Ram and Ram along with his trusted companion took his wife back to his kingdom, Ayodhya. And after 21 days he returned to Ayodhya, and this day is celebrated as Diwali with lights as Ayodhya celebrate this day as defeat of darkness by light. Even now the journey from two lands took a total of 21 days by foot.
